Our Lady of Hope’s Religious Education Program accepts students from kindergarten through 8th grade and provides detailed instruction in the Catholic faith. Our dedicated instructors are experienced and work with their classes to increase their knowledge and increase reading, writing, and developmental skills.
Students who have not yet received the sacraments of Reconciliation or Holy Communion are placed in our Second Grade Level class in order to prepare for these important sacraments with other second grade level students. Our students in this level work together as peer mentors to help each other learn necessary concepts.
Students who are not in the sixth grade and have already received their first Reconciliation and Holy Communion are placed in our middle school faith formation class. This class uses the Gospels as a foundation to teach elements of Catholic beliefs and teachings. Students in sixth grade through eighth receive Confirmation, the final sacrament of initiation. We invite and encourage students in seventh and eighth grade who have already received their Confirmation to continue to attend class in order to further learn about their faith.
Students will have opportunities throughout the year to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, reflect quietly in prayer, visit the Shrine on our parish’s grounds, attend Mass, and visit the church during class.
Classes meet in the Parish Social Hall every Sunday at 9:00am until 10:30AM. When the social hall is occupied for a parish or school event, classes are held in the rectory basement. We will announce in advance when class will be held in the rectory basement.
